Rathinam College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with Rathinavani Community Radio 90.8 and the School of Fine Arts, celebrated World Radio Day, recently.

The event aimed to promote awareness about radio listening and its impact on society.

Students from various departments participated in various events, including the radio program, radio quiz, rangoli, and essay writing. They also joined hands to spread the message of the importance of radio in today’s digital age.

As a highlight of the celebration, students creatively formed a human art representation of the word “RADIO” symbolizing the enduring power of radio as a medium of communication.

The event featured interactive sessions, live broadcasts, and engaging discussions on the evolution of radio and its role in fostering community engagement.

Rathinavani Community Radio played a crucial role in educating students about the significance of radio in information dissemination and entertainment.

The dignitaries made their presence and joined hands in creating awareness of Radio Day including, Manickam Ramasamy CEO & Secretary, Rathinam Group of Institution; Balasubramanian, Principal of the college; Suresh Vice Principal; Dhinakaran, COE; Sabareesh, Dean R&D; Sathishanandan, Head of the Department, Visual Communication; Dhanvi, Head of the Department, Costume Design and Fashion; Sadish Kumar, Creative Head/Manager, RFIC and Faculty members from various department.

Rathinam College appreciated the students’ efforts in making the celebration impactful. The event concluded with a pledge to continue advocating for the relevance of radio in an era dominated by digital media. Students expressed their gratitude to Mahendiran, Station Head, for organizing such a great event.
