The Department of Civil Engineering of Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology (HiCET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FBricks Future Factory, Pollachi, recently.

The MoU was to strengthen industry-academia collaboration in sustainable construction. The partnership focuses on knowledge exchange, student internships, industrial visits, joint research, faculty development, and entrepreneurship support.

This initiative aims to equip students with practical skills and exposure to real-world industry challenges.

The MoU signing was attended by TRK Sarasuwathi, Managing Trustee, Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust;  Shanmugam, Marketing Head of FBricks Future Factory; Jaya, Principal of the college;  Magudeswaran, Dean/ Academics; Akil, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and faculty members.

Jaya highlighted the importance of such collaborations in enhancing students’ industry readiness, while Shanmugam emphasized its role in fostering sustainable construction innovations.

This agreement marks a significant step in bridging the gap between academia and industry, fostering innovation and skill development in civil engineering.
