The Annual Conference of the Association of Medical Physicists of India – AMPICON 2024 Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry Chapter – concluded successfully at KMCH Auditorium on 15th March 2025.

It is a one-day conference featuring expert-led sessions, panel discussions, and E-Poster Sessions covering a wide range of topics, including advancements in radiation therapy, imaging technologies, radiation safety, and quality assurance in cancer care.

The conference was presided over by Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH in the presence of Dr. Thavamani D. Palaniswami, Vice Chairman, Dr. Arun Palaniswami, Executive Director, Dr. Subramaniam, Organizing Chairman, and Dr. Bharanidharan, AMPI Secretary.

The conference served as a vital platform for knowledge sharing, professional networking, and discussions on the latest advancements in medical physics.

A medical physicist applies physics principles and techniques to medical treatments and technologies, ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation and other medical imaging techniques. They collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals.

The conference brought together over 250 medical physicists from across South India. The eminent speakers from across the country shared their insights on emerging trends and challenges in the field, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration among participants.

The conference underscored the growing importance of medical physics in enhancing cancer care and improving clinical outcomes. It provided a valuable opportunity for medical physicists to engage with industry leaders, exchange research findings, and explore innovative solutions to complex challenges in medical imaging and radiation therapy.
