KPR College of Arts Science and Research (KPRCAS), School of Computing Science, Department of Information Technology in collaboration with “Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation,” Malaysia organized a Five-Day International Workshop on “Machine Learning Algorithms for Sentimental Analysis: A Deep Dive” recently.
Dr. P. Geetha, Principal, KPRCAS presided the event. Dr. P. Sharmila, Dean, SoCS felicitated the gathering and Dr. A. Sumathi, Head, Department of Information Technology welcomed and introduced the Resource Persons.
Dr. Nirase Fathima Abubacker, Associate Professor, Faculty of Computing Science, Asia Pacific University, Malaysia and Mr. Mafas Raheem, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Computing Science, Asia Pacific University, Malaysia were the resource persons for the five-day hands-on session.
At the five-day Workshop, students were able to learn about the cutting-edge technologies like Machine Learning, Deep Learning and NLP. They applied the algorithms on real time data sets and learnt how to process the data before using them into the project. In addition, they have visualized the results through some of the salient visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
Students finally developed knowledge on how to reduce the product returns in e-commerce and improve the customer satisfaction by applying Machine Learning and Sentiment Analysis. The program was coordinated by S. Padmapriya, Assistant Professor and
Akil K M, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology. Around 70 students from IT, CS, CSDA and AIML participated and got benefitted.
