Shambavi Samkalp IAS Academy and Young Indians recently felicitated Tamil Nadu UPSC achievers at PSG College of Technology.
The event was graced by the presence of RN Ravi, Tamil Nadu Governor and Guest of Honour Santhosh Taneja, Founder, Samkalp Academy.
Vishnu Prabhakar, Chairman of Yi- Coimbatore said that out of the 19 UPSC achievers, 5 were from PSG Institutions. “Samkalp was started with the yeoman vision of creating very upstanding UPSC officers,” said Vishnu Prabhakar.
Annush Ramasamy, MD, Sri Kumaraguru Mills who brought Samkalp Academy to Coimbatore, said.
“In our small way, we are starting with Samkalp from Delhi to Coimbatore in the form of Shambavi Samkalp. We did this because we wanted to promote meritocracy among aspiring candidates. Another main reason is that we felt we should support these candidates by providing them with the space and people to guide them. Our goal is to bring the same Samkalp experience to Coimbatore and then extend it to the rest of South India,” he added.
Governor Ravi congratulated the candidates who have cleared UPSC. He said that civil servants have a great responsibility to see that policies are implemented equitably and to ensure that public grievances are addressed.
He wanted them to learn to digest their success in life and never let it get into their heads as it will affect them to be humble. He added that this journey will have ups and downs and as Civil Servants, they must understand that their responsibility is greater and they must keep going on confidently. He also said, that he too has come from a very underdeveloped area and cleared the Civil Services exam, studied by the light of a kerosene lamp and walked 8 kilometres to attend school. It is both my dream and my parents’ hard work that has brought me to this level.
The event saw the participation of a diverse group, including aspiring Civil Services candidates, trainers, parents, and college students.
