The Business Promotion Branding and Sustainability Sub Committee, Tiruppur Exporters’ Association in cooperation with FairTrade India and TUV Rhineland organised a workshop on “Chemical Inventory and Waste Water Management” at Padmashri Dr. A. Sakthivel Auditorium, recently.

Subramanian, President of the Association presided over the meeting. Elangovan, Vice President; Anand, Chairman, Business Promotion, Branding and Sustainability Sub Committee and Mezhiselvan, Vice Chairman participated on behalf of the Association.

Many members of our Association and Office Bearers and members from other Trade Associations also took part in the workshop. Cecil Raj of TUV Rhineland welcomed the gathering.

Subramanian in his Presidential Address praised the Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the Sustainability Sub Committee for their active role in achieving the Current Goal of our Association which is “BRAND TIRUPPUR GREEN TIRUPPUR”.

He proudly informed the participants that the Tiruppur Cluster is an exclusive cluster where production is carried out without any pollution to Air or Water and no harm to Mother Earth.  He further said that the Tiruppur Cluster is adopting techniques such as “Zero Liquid Discharge,” “Green Energy Production,” Planting and maintenance of 2 million Saplings, “Rainwater Harvesting” etc. to ensure sustainability goals.

He advised the participants to save water, Chemicals and Energy during their production.  He concluded his address with the positive news that the exports have been growing in the past three months and Tiruppur would achieve a growth of at least 15% in the current year.  He also hoped that it would still grow in future years in view of the New Government takeover in the United States, and Geopolitical situations prevailing in competing countries.

Elangovan emphasized the Project Tiruppur as Green Tiruppur being the main Goal of the Association.  With the EU and US Governments bringing in new legislation, it was absolutely essential for Tiruppur Entrepreneurs to be focused on Sustainable Production. He expressed his confidence that Tiruppur would become Carbon Zero by 2030.
