The event recognised not merely the quantity donated, but the courage, compassion and commitment behind every contribution. The mothers were honoured with Certificates of Appreciation and personalised mementoes bearing their names as a mark of gratitude for their selfless service.

The recognition celebrated mothers whose journeys ranged from being new donors to those who had continued donating for nearly four years.

A particularly moving aspect of the programme was the opportunity given to the donor mothers to share their personal journeys. They spoke about their experiences with breast milk donation, the challenges they encountered during pregnancy and childbirth, and the encouragement they received from their families and healthcare professionals.

Their stories reflected the determination and compassion that enabled them to continue contributing even through physically and emotionally demanding phases of motherhood.

The programme also acknowledged the role of those who have continuously supported and encouraged breast milk donation.

Kaviya Giritharan, Pregnancy Coach and Childbirth Educator at Happy Birth and a world record holder for breast milk donation, shared her experience and insights. Having donated approximately 270 litres of breast milk to date, she has been a significant source of encouragement and support for many donor mothers.

Addressing the gathering, Swathika Manoharan, Founder and Lead Consultant of Sushrutha Medical Center, shared valuable insights on breast milk donation and its importance. Her address highlighted the significance of supporting and appreciating mothers who choose to donate, while her interaction with the donor mothers added a deeply personal touch to the occasion.

The programme also recognised the nurses of Sushrutha Medical Center for their continued support and guidance to the donor mothers throughout their donation journeys. Their contribution highlighted the importance of a strong support system in enabling and encouraging breast milk donation.

What made Amudham particularly meaningful was the atmosphere of gratitude and pride that remained throughout the programme. It became more than a recognition ceremony, it served as a platform for donor mothers to share their stories, celebrate their journeys and inspire greater awareness about the value of breast milk donation.

The event concluded with a renewed appreciation for every mother who chose to share her breast milk beyond her own child. Amudham stood as a tribute to the spirit of motherhood, reminding everyone that every drop donated carries not only nourishment, but also compassion, hope and the possibility of giving a newborn a healthier beginning.

Through Amudham, the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy, along with its partners, reaffirmed its commitment to recognising unsung acts of service and creating meaningful awareness around maternal and child health.
