Salem Division of Southern Railway has announced changes in train services due to engineering works on the railway tracks between Coimbatore Junction and Podanur Junction.
As a result, several trains scheduled to originate from Coimbatore Junction will instead depart from Podanur Junction on specified dates.
Train No. 16721 Coimbatore–Madurai Express, scheduled to depart from Coimbatore Junction at 2:30 PM, will instead leave from Podanur Junction at 2:45 PM on May 3, 4 and 5, 2026. The train will not operate between Coimbatore and Podanur on these days and will run from Podanur Junction to Madurai Junction.
Train No. 56603 Coimbatore–Shoranur Passenger, scheduled to depart from Coimbatore Junction at 4:25 PM, will instead leave from Podanur Junction at 4:38 PM on May 3, 4 and 5, 2026. The train will not run between Coimbatore and Podanur and will operate from Podanur Junction to Shoranur Junction.
Train No. 16608 Coimbatore–Kannur Express, scheduled to depart from Coimbatore Junction at 1:50 PM, will instead leave from Podanur Junction at 2:03 PM on May 3, 4 and 5, 2026. It will not operate between Coimbatore and Podanur and will run from Podanur Junction to Kannur.
Train No. 66616 Podanur–Mettupalayam MEMU, scheduled to depart from Podanur Junction at 1:50 PM, will instead originate from Coimbatore Junction at 2:03 PM on May 3, 4 and 5, 2026. The train will not run between Podanur and Coimbatore and will operate from Coimbatore Junction to Mettupalayam.
Train No. 02197 Coimbatore–Jabalpur Special, scheduled to depart from Coimbatore Junction at 5:05 PM, will instead leave from Podanur Junction on May 4 and 5, 2026.
Passengers are advised to take note of these changes and plan their travel accordingly.
