The Rotary Club of Coimbatore West, with the support of Pothys, inaugurated The VIDHYA – The Great Rotary Innovation Lab (STEM Innovation Lab) recently at the Government Higher Secondary School, Kavundampalayam. iExplore Foundation implemented it.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Vigneswari, Headmistress, who highlighted the importance of providing students with opportunities to develop scientific curiosity, creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills through experiential STEM learning.

The lab was inaugurated by Sathya Narayanan, Vice President, Pothys, who, in his inaugural address, encouraged students to dream big, become innovators and problem solvers, and contribute towards building a stronger and more developed India. He emphasised that today’s students have the potential to become the scientists, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders of tomorrow.

Delivering the Guest of Honour address, Rtn. Chella K. Raghavendran, District Governor (2025–26), Rotary International District 3206, inspired students by referring to the remarkable journeys of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Mylswamy Annadurai.

He stressed that curiosity, innovation, and the effective use of technology are essential qualities for shaping the future, and encouraged students to embrace science and technology with confidence.

The VIDHYA STEM Innovation Lab has been established with modern STEM learning resources to enable students to engage in hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Beyond the infrastructure, iExplore Foundation will implement a structured two-year STEM, Innovation, Design Thinking, and Entrepreneurship programme, equipping students with 21st-century skills and fostering creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Teachers, students, Rotary members, and distinguished guests participated in the inauguration.
