National Conference on Critical Care and Respiratory Care held at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital 

Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Department of Critical Care Medicine, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, in association with the Indian Association of Respiratory Care (IARC), organised a one-day national conference, “INTENSICARE 2026,” at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, recently.

Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, inaugurated the conference by lighting the traditional lamp and presided over the event.

Dr. Balasubramaniam, Consultant Intensivist and Head of Critical Care Services, Department of Critical Care Medicine, Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest. Dr. Saumy Johnson, General Secretary, Indian Association of Respiratory Care, was the Guest of Honour and delivered a presentation on the scope and opportunities in Respiratory and Critical Care Technology. Dr. Ramkumar, Consultant Intensivist, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, unveiled the theme of the conference.

Ramkumar, Chief Executive Officer, SNR Sons Charitable Trust; Mahesh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer; Dr. S. Rajagopal, Medical Director, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital; Dr. S. Alagappan, Medical Superintendent, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital; and Dr. P. Sathya, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Allied Health Sciences, provided guidance and support for the successful conduct of the conference.

Experts and consultants from various hospitals delivered presentations on different aspects of critical and respiratory care. The guest speakers included Dr. Manjunathan, HOD, Department of Emergency Medicine; Karthir Selvan, Registrar; Dr. Krishna Sameera, Consultant Paediatric Intensivist; Dr. Indira Devi, Consultant Paediatric Intensivist; Dr. Navneeth, Consultant Intensivist; and Maria Ananda Raja, Consultant Intensivist, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital. Dr. Senthil Kumar, Chief of Critical Care Medicine, GKNM Hospital; Dr. Gopinathan, HOD, Department of Critical Care Medicine, Kovai Medical Center and Hospital; and Dr. Ganga, Consultant Intensivist, SKS Hospital, Salem, also served as guest speakers and shared their expertise on various critical care topics.

More than 200 Allied Health Sciences students from across the southern states participated in the conference and benefited from the academic sessions and expert interactions.

As part of the conference, students from various colleges participated in an e-poster presentation. The best three posters were selected and the winners were honoured with awards.
