The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCIC) organized a meeting on Trade Facilitative Measures taken by Customs including ATITHI 2.0.
Rajesh B.Lund, President, ICCIC presided over the event. N.Pradeep, Hon.Secretary, ICCIC also took part. Dhananjay IRS, Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Coimbatore International Airport served as the Resource Person of the meeting.
ATITHI is short for Automated Traveller Helpdesk for Incoming Tourists & Homebound Indians. It is a digital passenger facilitation platform developed by the New Applications Vertical (NAV) of the Directorate General of Systems & Data Management under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance.
ATITHI 2.0 is a very useful mobile app. Dhananjay IRS, explained that one of the very useful features of ATITHI 2.0 is that it is designed to assist international passengers by allowing them to digitally declare details regarding the goods they are bringing in as well as their foreign currency holdings directly to the Customs Department. This makes their arrival process at Indian airports much faster and easier.
International passengers coming to India have the option to declare the necessary information 72 prior to their travel via ATITHI 2.0. This digital process helps them complete inspection processes swiftly and begin their exploration of India.
