About KASC-IIC and its performance

The Institution’s Innovation Council of Kongunadu Arts and Science College (KASC-IIC) was established in the academic year 2018–2019 with the objective of systematically fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and creating a vibrant local innovation ecosystem within the institution.

KASC-IIC further promotes innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, intellectual property, and technology-driven initiatives through various activities, thereby strengthening an innovation-oriented ecosystem on the campus. The institution is also promoting the generation of tribal and rural start-ups.

“Several Idea generation workshops are provided to the stakeholders to promote student and faculty-led start-ups. Aligning with the National Innovation and Start-up Policy (NISP), the institution has adopted the KASC Start-up and Innovation Policy, and through this, several benefits are made available to potential student aspirants who would like to explore new product development.

The institution has two Pre-Incubation support centres, namely the KASC Tech Hub for IT and IT-related start-up generation and KASC i-Hub for life science-related product development,” the college stated in a press release.

“These achievements reflect the institution’s sustained commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, research, intellectual property, and a vibrant innovation ecosystem among students and faculty,” noted the release.

The press release further highlighted that the achievement reflects KASC-IIC’s sustained efforts to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture among students while nurturing their creative and entrepreneurial potential.

“Students have actively participated in various hackathons and innovation challenges, presented their innovative ideas, developed prototypes, and gained opportunities to further incubate their ideas and prototypes through various incubation centres in and around Coimbatore. These initiatives have encouraged students to transform their innovative ideas into viable ventures and emerge as young entrepreneurs and startup founders,” the college stated.
