A Joint German Indian Round Table (GRIT) Meet was held at Hotel Grand Regent, Coimbatore, on 6th May 2025.

The Chief Guest for the day was Her Excellency Kathrin Misera-Lang, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chennai.

Chandrasekar, Head of the German Indian Round Table, Coimbatore Chapter, and Anita Spiegler, Chapter Head, GIRT Thuringia Chapter, have coordinated this meeting.

The opening address of the meeting was delivered by Rajkumar, Co-Patron of the German-Indian Round Table, Coimbatore Chapter and Managing Director, GEDEE Group.

Chandrasekar, Head of German-Indian Round Table – Coimbatore Chapter and Corporate Director of Roots Group of Companies, gave the welcoming remarks.

During the Chief Guest Address, Kathrin Misera-Lang said, “The economic exchange between Coimbatore and Thuringia already has a long-standing tradition. Coimbatore is one of the leading industrial centres of Tamil Nadu and South India, as we experienced once again today during the factory visits.”

Further, she stated that, “I believe Thuringia is a natural partner here, being an attractive centre for business, investment, and technology. Coimbatore also has one of the most active chapters of GIRT (German-Indian Round Table).”

“The cooperation between Germany and Tamil Nadu is particularly strong, and I would say it operates on three key levels: Firstly, through collaboration between businesses, secondly, through our partnership in vocational training, and thirdly, through academic cooperation,” Kathrin Misera-Lang added.
