The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCIC) welcomed TN Govt’s budget for the financial year 2026-27 and also appreciated the Government’s focus on economic growth, industrial development, education and social welfare.

Rajesh Lund, the President of ICCIC welcomed the special package of Rs.102 crore to promote paddy cultivation and food grain production across 29 non-delta districts and the substantial allocation of Rs.44,527 crore for School Education, including Rs.2,000 crore for free laptops, along with continued support for students through welfare initiatives.

He hailed the Government’s commitment to transparent and corruption-free execution of Government tenders and public projects through an open tendering system. This reform, according to him, is expected to enhance transparency, promote fair competition and provide greater opportunities for industries and MSMEs.

“The Budget presents a positive outlook for Coimbatore’s engineering, textile, pump manufacturing, foundry, automobile component and MSME sectors, which are expected to benefit from the Government’s continued focus on industrial growth and infrastructure development,” Rajesh said via a press release.

While welcoming the Budget, he said the Chamber looks forward to further policy measures to strengthen MSME competitiveness, exports, logistics infrastructure, power availability and region-specific infrastructure projects.
