With the objective to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and addiction and promoting responsible and healthy lifestyle choices, Hindusthan Institute of Technology (Hindusthan IT) conducted an Anti-Drug Awareness Program recently for close to 700 of its 2nd year students recently.
The program was organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS). Dr. D. Jeyalakshmi, M.D., Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Coimbatore Medical College, was the Chief Guest.
She shared her medical expertise and valuable insights on the physical and psychological consequences of drug abuse. The awareness program focused on several important aspects related to drug abuse, including the harmful effects of drugs on physical and mental health, health risks associated with substance abuse, addiction and its consequences, preventive measures, responsible decision-making, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
