The Department of Commerce with Professional Accounting, Dr. NGP Arts and Science College, Coimbatore in association with The Coimbatore Branch of Southern India Regional Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized an Auditors’ Conclave on “Auditing in the Age of GEN- AI” recently.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Thavamani D Palaniswami, Secretary of the college. She highlighted on the achievements of the students and Alumni in all professional qualifications in the fields of accounting and finance.
Sathish, Chairman, ICAI-Coimbatore (SIRC) in his felicitation highlighted the difference and immense opportunities offered by AI in showing and boosting our potential through an engaging short story.
Jalapathi, Past Chairman, SIRC in his address highlighted on the importance of Chartered Accountants in India. In his address, CA. Ramaswamy, Past President, ICAI emphasized the integration of AI in the Digital Era and its impact on the professional audit system.
He also placed great importance on the ability of an accountant’s intuition in detecting fraud thus, contributing to the global economy as a whole.
Technical Session –I was chaired by CA. Aravind Thangam, Coimbatore and he spoke on the topics “Reaching our Ultimate Goal” and “GST Compliances and Opportunities”. He enlightened the importance of passion, attitude and practice with knowledge in achieving the goals.
He also explained in detail about GST and its importance, towards the students’ community on opportunities shortly.
Technical Session –II was chaired by CA. Survajith Krishnan, Vice Chairman, Coimbatore Branch of SIRC of ICAI, addressed the topic “From the ledger to algorithm: the transformative role of AI in accounting”.
He enlightened the participants on AI and its development in several sectors, and a brief talk was given on various AI tools & their integrated services. A thorough overview of Block Chain Technology and its applications.
The Valedictory Session was felicitated by Banudevi, Dean of the faculty of commerce of the college. The event was chaired by CA. Balasubramaniam, Company Secretary, Coimbatore by giving a concise note on exam preparation in a very engaging session.
The conclave had around 500 participants from various institutions in and around Coimbatore making it a remarkable event for students and professional alike.
