G.Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital (GKNM Hospital) celebrated its 74th Founder’s Day, paying rich tributes to G. Kuppuswamy Naidu, upon whose vision the hospital was founded in 1952.
What began as 50-bedded mother-and-child hospital in 1952 has evolved into a comprehensive 750-bed multi-specialty healthcare institution offering health care services of the highest level in the country with the guidance of Kuppuswamy Naidu Charity Trust for Education and Medical Relief.
The celebration had the participation of N. Kannan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City as the Chief Guest.
R. Gopinath, President, KNC Trust presided over. Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Vice-President of the Trust; Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy, Chief Executive Officer and Dr. G. Manoharan, Chief Medical Officer, GKNM Hospital joined the celebration.
The Chief Guest, N. Kannan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City acknowledged the invaluable role GKNM Hospital plays in delivering quality health care services to the people of Coimbatore.
He opined that the Founder may not have known or imagined the number of lives GKNM Hospital would touch when this hospital was envisioned and established as a 50-bedded hospital for maternal and childcare center but that humble center has grown to become a great tertiary care, multi-speciality hospital touching huge number of people in its 7+ decades of service.
He asserted that this would not become possible without the incredible contribution of all the doctors, nurses, medical assistants, technicians and other staff.
The occasion included the presentation of Founder’s Day Awards. It was presented in 3 categories – Distinguished Service Award, Performance Excellence Award and Meritorious Award.
Dr.Latha Balasubramani, Consultant Gynec. Onco Surgeon received the Distinguished Service Award.
Dr.Gokul, Consultant Anesthesiologist; Cecilia, Deputy Manager, Surgical Pharmacy; Anandhi, Senior Manager, Bio Medical Department received the Performance Excellence Award.
Anusha, Consultant Anesthesiologist; Myulswamy, Sr.Technician; Sridevi, Sr.Assitant Front Office; Thamaraiselvan, Sr.Network Administrator; Selvalumari, Sr.Ward Incharge and Palanithaai, Nursing Supervisor received the Meritorious Service Award.
