The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, recently organised Genesis 2025, a project showcase for school students.

The showcase featured groundbreaking student innovations such as the Virtual Doctor Muscle Sensor, Home Automation and Assistance for Amnesia Patients, River Cleaning Raft, LED Distance Indicator for the Deaf, Smart Home, Smart Dustbin, Aquaflite Bee, Hydronic X1000, Relic Rover, Crop Crafter, and Blind Stick.

The event witnessed the participation of over 125 students from various schools in the Coimbatore district, presenting 35+ innovative projects.

The winners were awarded in two categories: Schools with Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL): Yuvabharathi Public School won first prize for Zenith, a futuristic rover designed to safeguard plant life. Schools without ATL: Amrita Vidyalayam, Nallampalayam secured first place for Road Ski, a rechargeable electric scooter.

The university’s Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) actively mentors schools in Coimbatore, supporting the Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) as part of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog’s ATL Sarthi cluster initiative.

Under this initiative, Amrita IIC regularly organizes regional hackathons, cybersecurity awareness programs, and train-the-trainer workshops to promote student innovation.

The event was attended by distinguished faculty members from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, including Mahadevan, Associate Dean, Student Affairs; Prashant Nair, President, IIC; Adarsh, Professor of Student Welfare; and Ramaguru, Genesis Faculty Coordinator, who distributed prizes and certificates to the young innovators.
