The 11th Annual Conference of the Tamil Nadu Interventional Council (TIC) was held recently in Chennai, in which KMCH’s Senior Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Thomas Alexander was conferred the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly, J.C.D. Prabhakar and Health Minister of Tamil Nadu, Arunraj presented the award to him.

The award recognizes Dr.Alexander Thomas’ extraordinary leadership, pioneering work with the STEMI Project in India, and over three decades of dedicated service to cardiovascular medicine.

A press release from KMCH stated that Dr. Alexander is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the Indian College of Cardiology (FICC), and the Cardiological Society of India (FCSI). This recognition at TIC 2026 reaffirms his lifelong commitment to improving cardiac healthcare access and outcomes across India.
