The 49th Annual Conference of the Tamil Nadu Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (TNASICON 2026) was inaugurated at the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PSG IMSR) in Coimbatore on Friday.
The four-day conference, being held from August 6 to 9, brings together surgeons from across Tamil Nadu for academic discussions, knowledge sharing and professional interaction.
Dr. D. Maruthu Pandian, National President of the Association of Surgeons of India, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony, while Dr. C. Palanivelu, Chairman, GEM Hospital, was the Guest of Honour. Senior medical professionals including Dr. M. Geethanjali of CMCH Coimbatore, Dr. T.M. Subba Rao of PSGIMSR, Dr. G. Murugesan of GMC & ESI Hospital, Maj Gen Dr. R. Ravikumar of KMCH IHSR and Dr. K. Shantha Arulmozhi of KFMSR were among the special invitees.

The conference is being organised under the leadership of Dr. A. Zmeer Pasha, Chairman, TNASI; Dr. JA Jayalal, Chairman Elect, TNASI; Dr. S. Marimuthu, Honorary Secretary, TNASI; Dr. S. Saradha, Organising Chairman, TNASICON 2026; and Dr. K.S. Rajkumar, Organising Secretary, TNASICON 2026.

TNASICON 2026 is being held with the theme, “Empowering surgeons today to shape the future of healthcare tomorrow.” The conference provides a platform for surgeons to exchange expertise, discuss developments in surgical care and deliberate on the future of healthcare and surgical practice.
