Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam, the literary wing of the Shriram Group, one of India’s leading non-banking financial companies, is organising the Thirukkural Elocution, Drawing, and Essay Contests 2025—an annual state-level competition—from 12th July to 24th August 2025.
The competition is open to school and college students across 12 centres in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Coimbatore zone competition will be held at Suburban Higher Secondary School, Ram Nagar, on 23rd August 2025.
The contests in other cities will be held as follows: Chennai on 12th July, Vellore on 13th July, Tambaram on 19th July, Puducherry on 20th July, Salem on 26th July, Trichy on 27th July, Madurai on 2nd August, Nellai on 3rd August, Tanjore on 9th August, Thiruvarur on 10th August, and Erode on 24th August 2025.
Interested participants can collect the application forms from the nearest Shriram Chits branches or download them from www.shriramchits.com.
The contestants will be divided into three groups: Juniors (Classes 6–8), Seniors (Classes 9–12), and College (UG, PG, Engineering, Medical, and Polytechnic students).
Notably, Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam has been conducting this competition every year since 1988 with the aim of enhancing awareness of the teachings of Thirukkural among the student community in the state.
