PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) organised an induction programme for first-year undergraduate students of the 2026–2027 batch at the PSG Convention Centre recently.

Hemant Mulwani, Head of Engineering, Caterpillar Inc. India, was the chief guest at the inauguration.

Saravanakumar, Principal, welcomed the gathering. He stated that knowledge is incremental and requires consistent learning. He emphasised that to solve complex engineering and industrial problems, master product creation, design efficient processes and build robust systems, students must adopt the mindset and lifestyle of an engineer.

Mohanram, Secretary, PSG iTech, delivered the presidential address. He urged students to ask more questions, move beyond rote memorisation and master fundamental concepts, while striving to become compassionate individuals and responsible citizens.

The chief guest highlighted six important qualities essential for a successful career through an engaging story: curiosity and problem-solving, focus, discipline, teamwork, ethics and happiness.

He emphasised that attitude and behaviour are more important than qualifications for achieving success in one’s career.

The inauguration programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Vijayakumar, Dean, Electrical and Computer Engineering, PSG iTech.
