PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) and PSG Institute of Architecture and Planning (PSG IAP) jointly organised a One-day Seminar on “Insights from Agastya Maharishi’s Classical Work on Health Science and Technology” recently.

Mohanram, Secretary of PSG iTech, welcomed the gathering and the distinguished resource persons.

Shriman Adinarayanan, Founder, Anaadi Foundation highlighted the profound legacy of Agastya Maharishi, a revered sage whose influence encompasses a vast spectrum of ancient Indian knowledge systems.

He emphasized Agastya Maharishi’s pivotal role not only in spiritual traditions but also as a trailblazer in various disciplines, including science, health, linguistics, and metaphysics.

Shriman Adinarayanan elaborated on how Agastya Maharishi’s contributions showcase a remarkable synthesis of spiritual wisdom and practical knowledge, offering timeless insights that bridge the seen and unseen aspects of life.

Selva Shunmugam, Secretary and Siddha Consultant at the Health India Foundation, delivered an insightful discussion on the theme Agathiyar’s Contribution in Health and Wellness and Siddha medicine through the scriptures of Agathiyar and connected them from the roots of Indian Knowledge System (IKS).

Ravinder Pal Singh, Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer at Rishihood University, shared insights into the integration of Agastya Maharishi’s work with modern scientific innovations and its relevance to engineering and space studies.

He emphasized to device a tool to preserve ancient scriptures across all Indian languages which will be the source of knowledge for solving future problems.

Shama Bhat, Advocate, Mysuru delivered a keynote address on the theme “Cultural Confluence: Agastya’s Role in Bridging the North and South of Bharat.

Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, Professor and Director of the Department of Cardiology & Preventive Cardiology at PSG Hospitals, delivered an in-depth keynote on “Panchakosha Viveka in Healthcare.”

Two medical teams from PSG Hospitals (Allopathy and Naturopathy) offered expert advice on managing health conditions and recommended therapeutic measures.

The programme was attended by 165 participants of which 146 were from different PSG Institutions.

The session was interactive and the experts patiently clarified the doubts of the participants.

The programme has enhanced the awareness of Indian sages and their significant contribution to the unification of the nation in the fields of philosophy, science, technology, health-care and human well-being.
