The Department of Computer Science with Cyber Security and the Cyber Security Cell of Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College, in association with the State Bank of India, Kalapatti Branch, Coimbatore, organised an awareness programme on “Cyber Vigilance: Stay Alert, Stay Secure” on Tuesday.
The programme was conducted as part of Vigilance Awareness Week and Cyber Awareness Month 2026.
Gayathri, Regional Manager, Coimbatore-South, State Bank of India, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest. Saravanan, Principal of the College, felicitated the programme. Mary Magdalene Jane, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science, and Shobana, Head, Department of Cyber Security, provided their guidance and support for the programme.
The awareness session focused on various forms of cybercrime, including phishing, OTP and online banking frauds, social engineering, identity theft, malicious links and digital payment scams.
The students were provided with practical insights into protecting their personal and financial information and adopting safe and responsible digital practices.
The programme effectively reinforced the message “Stay Alert, Stay Secure”, encouraging students to remain vigilant against emerging cyber threats and to become responsible and informed digital citizens.
