The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Coimbatore, celebrated its Chamber Day on Saturday at The Banyan Meadows.
During the event, three unsung heroes were honoured for their contributions, along with a young child.
Nagarajan was honoured in recognition of his more than three decades of dedicated service towards financial inclusion.
Vivek was honoured for his efforts in empowering persons with spinal cord injuries towards rehabilitation and livelihood.
Duraisamy was honoured for his efforts in conserving water, protecting nature and reviving Agraharasamakulam Lake after 28 years.
A Certificate of Appreciation was conferred on Adhirai Nachimuthu, an eight-year-old, for authoring and publishing the book “Unicorn Quest” at a young age.
Earlier, Dorairaj, President, Indian Chamber, delivered the welcome address. He said that, from this year onwards, the Chamber would honour a child to motivate and inspire young minds.
The office-bearers—Dorairaj, President; Natrajan, Vice President; Kailash Kumar, Honorary Secretary; and Arun Prakash, Treasurer—honoured the unsung heroes with cash prizes.
Following the award ceremony, a music fest featuring singers from Vijay TV’s Super Singer was held.
The past presidents of the Indian Chamber, D. Nandakumar, Vanitha Mohan and Rajesh B. Lund, graced the occasion.
