The Off Screen Hub, in association with Nirmala College for Women, organised the T-shirt launch ceremony for “Komagal Marathon 2026 – Run for Her”, a marathon dedicated to promoting women’s empowerment, health, and social awareness.
The marathon is scheduled to be held on July 26 at 6 a.m. at Nehru Stadium. The T-shirt launch ceremony was held recently at the Rajiv Gandhi Nagar Sangam Grounds.
Sree Giri Prasad, MLA for Singanallur constituency, inaugurated the event by unveiling the official marathon T-shirt.
The organisers said the marathon is open to participants of all genders. They especially appealed to men to take part in honour of the women in their families—mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, and others—in recognition of their dedication and invaluable contributions to society.
The dignitaries present were Vijay Anand, runner and founder of TR Ant Sports; Vanitha, HR Group Head, Robert Bosch; Rajesh, Founder of Atom Infinity; Nithya, Placement Officer, Nirmala College for Women; Mohana, NSS In-Charge of the college; and Parvathi Ravi, Principal of WVS Special School.
The dignitaries emphasised that “Run for Her” is not merely a marathon but a social movement aimed at promoting women’s safety, equality, health, and empowerment.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from volunteers and members of the public.
