The Grand Finale of Bharat Kala Sangamam Premier League – Cricket Tournament was held on Sunday at Diamond City Grounds near R.S.Puram, where the unstoppable Gujarat Lions overcame the valiant Rajasthani Super Stars to lift the Championship.
Season 1 of the tournament began on Saturday with 13 teams – Aggarwal Tigers, Coimbatore Singhs & Kaurs, Sourashtra Spartans, Gujarat Lions, Punjab Dhurandhars, Konkani Smashers, Jaiswal Warriors, Maheswari Superstars, Jagannatha Striker, Bengal Tigers, Rajasthani Super Stars, Sindhi Strikers and KA Challengers clashing to earn points needed to be at the top of the league.
Gujarat Lions and Rajasthani Superstars made it to the finals, held on a sunny Sunday.
The Super Stars batted first and scored a massive 195 runs in 10 overs. Braving the boundary set by the Super Stars, the Lions patiently played and scored 198 to take home the trophy.
M.Krishnan, Founder, Bharat Kala Sangamam and MD, Sri Krishna Sweets presided over the valedictory and prize distribution.
He joined Nandakumar, Chairman; K.K.Chugh, Convenor and Trustee and Shankar Mysore, Joint Convenor and Trustee, Bharat Kala Sangamam to give away the prizes.
Nilesh, Captain of Rajasthani Super Stars received the Runner-up trophy while Rajesh, Captain, Gujarat Lions received the Championship.
Dhaarmik of Gujarat Lions was named the Man of the Match and the Player of the tournament.
Rishab of Rajasthani Super Stars earned the Purple Cap for excellent bowling and Parth of Gujarat Lions received the Orange Cap for outstanding batting contribution.
