PSG students won several laurels at the regional, district and state levels in September, bringing pride to the institution through their impressive performances in various sporting events.
Elanthendral, a PGDHRM student of PSG College of Arts & Science (PSGCAS), won the gold medal in the Traditional Event at the District-Level Yoga Tournament for the Chief Minister’s Trophy 2026, held at Sri Krishna College on September 19.
Yuvan Sharavan, a second-year B.Com FT student of PSGCAS, delivered an impressive performance at the 37th South Zone Junior Athletics Championships 2026, held at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Uppalam, Puducherry, from September 16 to 18. He won the gold medal in the 400 metres event and secured silver medals in the 400 metres hurdles and 4 × 400 metres relay.
Students of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) also excelled in sports. The Women’s Badminton Team secured third place in the Anna University Zonal Badminton Tournament, hosted by PSG College of Technology on September 21.
Aishwarya Akshadha, a second-year B.Sc. Psychology student of PSGCAS, clinched the gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle event at the Regional-Level Shooting Championship, held at PRS Grounds, Coimbatore, from September 10 to 14.
Adisaya, a first-year B.Sc. Physics student of PSGCAS, bagged the gold medal in the Regional-Level Fencing Competition held on September 15.
In indoor games, the Men’s Chess Team of PSGCAS secured first and third places at the District-Level Inter-Collegiate Men’s Chess Tournament, held at Sri Krishna Arts & Science College on September 10.
The Men’s Hockey Team of PSGCAS emerged as champions in the District-Level Inter-Collegiate Men’s Hockey Tournament for the Chief Minister’s Trophy, held at the Corporation Turf Ground, Coimbatore, from September 16 to 18.
The Men’s Ball Badminton Team of PSGCAS also emerged as champions in the District-Level Inter-Collegiate Men’s Ball Badminton Tournament for the Chief Minister’s Trophy, held at Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore, from September 16 to 17.
The Men’s Handball Team of PSGCAS secured the runner-up position in the District-Level Inter-Collegiate Men’s Handball Tournament for the Chief Minister’s Trophy, held at Karpagam University, Coimbatore, from September 16 to 17.
The Table Tennis teams of PSGCAS excelled at the District-Level Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis Tournament, securing multiple podium finishes in the singles and doubles categories. The results were:
- Women’s Singles – Winner and Third Place
• Women’s Doubles – Winners and Runners-up
• Men’s Singles – Winner, Runner-up and Third Place
• Men’s Doubles – Winners, Runners-up and Third Place
The tournament was held at Axion Table Tennis Academy, Saravanampatty, Coimbatore, on September 11. 
The Basketball teams of PSGCAS delivered an impressive performance at the District-Level Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament for the Chief Minister’s Trophy, securing top honours in both the men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s category, the PSGCAS team emerged as champions, while the women’s team secured the runner-up position. The tournament was held at Nehru Stadium, Coimbatore, from September 16 to 18.
