Bhuvana Dharmam Trust, Coimbatore has officially launched “Abhayam,” a dedicated geriatric support initiative aimed at assisting elderly citizens with healthcare and emergency medical needs.

Founded and Spearheaded by Senior cardiologist Dr. J.S. Bhuvaneswaran (Director of PSG Super Specialty Hospital), Bhuvana Dharmam Trust, since its inception in November 2020, works across culture, education, healthcare, environment and spiritual/social wellbeing.

This new project, Abhayam provides 24/7 helpline access, enabling senior citizens and their families to coordinate outpatient, inpatient, and emergency medical support at any time via the dedicated phone number 95146 92026.

It was launched on Sunday (6.9.26) by ‘Padma Shri’ awardee Dr.R.V.Ramani, Chairman, Sankara Eye Foundation; P.C.Duraisamy, Founder and Shanthi Duraisamy, Director, Sakthi Masala in the presence of Dr.J.S. Bhuvaneswaran, Balasubramanian, Bhuvana Bhuvaneswaran, Arathi Rajeswari, Executive from Prayojana.

All guidance and hospital volunteer coordination provided through Abhayam will remain completely free of charge, operating strictly without mandatory payment structures.

In addition to this, in order to deliver a comprehensive eldercare system, Abhayam has established a strategic partnership with Prayojana, a subscription-based eldercare provider operating across Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Under this collaboration, Abhayam handles primary medical navigation, cardiology consultations, and hospital visitation support. Meanwhile, Prayojana manages In-Home Support Services for Senior Citizens including home errands, recreational visits, transport, and companionship for seniors whose families live away.

The service will formally commence operations starting from Vinayagar Chaturthi 2026.

ABAYAM 07The event was held on Dr.Bhuvaneswaran’s birthday, and as a “birthday gift”, Dr.RV Ramani pledged to support Abhayam by providing free preventive eye checkup to individuals that reach out to Abhayam for healthcare assistance. On the other side, P.C.Duraisamy assured to support Abhayam after assessing it’s requirements.

The launch event had the presence of Dr. T. Balaji, Director, PSG Institute of Oncology; C.V.Ramkumar, CEO, SNR Sons Charitable Trust; Rtn.R.S.Maruti, District Governor, RI District 3206; Mohanasundari, MD, Sharp Pumps and several other well-wishers.
