Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar declared that continuous efforts will be made to render the voter list completely transparent and accurate, assuring that no one will be permitted to subvert the country’s electoral system.
Delivering the keynote address at the 30th Convocation Ceremony held at the Coimbatore campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, the Chief Election Commissioner noted deliberate attempts from various quarters to disrupt India’s democratic framework. He urged the nation’s youth not to fall prey to baseless allegations and false propaganda, but instead seek the truth and move forward with mindfulness.
“A forward-looking India places its faith in the new generation. The nation relies on your confidence and tireless hard work. Your active contribution is vital for India’s greater development, “said Gyanesh Kumar.
Distinguished Guest, Balasubramaniam, Member of NITI Aayog, emphasised that true fulfilment in education comes from serving the community. He stated that what matters most is one’s contribution to society, and the knowledge and experience gained must be utilised for the betterment of the country and its citizens.
The event featured an inaugural benediction address by Swami Ramakrishnanandapuri, Trustee of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Venkat Rangan, Vice-Chancellor, Bipin Nair, Registrar and Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean, also addressed the gathering.
During the 30th Convocation ceremony at the Coimbatore campus, a total of 2,197 students—comprising undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. scholars across various departments—received their degrees.
Graduates from other campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will receive their degrees in dedicated ceremonies scheduled at their respective campuses in the coming days, said Amrita via a press release.
