Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) recently organised a Students’ Induction Programme for the MBA Batch 2026–2028.
The programme was designed to orient newly admitted students towards becoming competent management professionals by fostering active participation, focused learning, and career-oriented development throughout their MBA journey.

Valarmathi, Principal and CEO, welcomed the gathering and delivered the presidential address. She encouraged students to make the most of their MBA programme by continuously enhancing their knowledge, developing essential skills, and cultivating the right attitude through the diverse experiential learning opportunities offered at the institute.
She also urged them to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities while maintaining a strong focus on their career goals.
The chief guest, Naveen Rajan, CEO and Managing Director of Venture Pumps and Sharp Industries, delivered an inspiring address on the importance of adapting to change.
He emphasised that the time spent in an organisation belongs to the company and that employees must strive to be productive and add value through their work. He highlighted the importance of avoiding preventable failures, noting that such failures often carry significant consequences. He also stressed that building a strong professional network is an essential career skill.
Sharing insights on succeeding in the workplace, Naveen Rajan encouraged students to dedicate their initial years to learning, identify mentors for guidance, seek regular feedback for continuous improvement, and maintain a record of their contributions and achievements to support their professional growth.
On the occasion, the institute also released “V-IMPRINT”, its institutional newsletter for the period January–June 2026, highlighting the academic and institutional achievements of the institute.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Umamaheswari, Professor.
