To promote art in Coimbatore, the Kasthuri Sreenivasan Trust recently organised the 28th Mrs. Barbara Sreenivasan Memorial Painting Workshop, a four-day event held at the trust’s art gallery. The workshop featured two renowned artists from Kumbakonam, who demonstrated and guided students in painting with oil and watercolours, as well as creating clay models and paper crafts. The event aimed to inspire creativity and encourage participants to explore art as a hobby and an extracurricular activity.
Students from grades 8 to 12, as well as college students, took part in the workshop, gaining hands-on experience in various art forms. The event also aimed to nurture entrepreneurial skills, motivating students to potentially start businesses based on the skills they acquired.The workshop was free of cost, and all participants received merit and participation certificates. The Kasthuri Sreenivasan Trust has been organising this annual workshop to promote art in Coimbatore. Throughout 27 previous workshops, approximately 5,900 individuals have been trained and benefited from this initiative.
