Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam, the literary wing of the Shriram Group, one of India’s leading non-banking financial services groups, will conduct the annual State-level Thirukkural Elocution, Drawing and Essay Contests 2026 for school and college students across 12 centres in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from July 18 to August 30, 2026.
The Coimbatore Zone competition will be held at Suburban Higher Secondary School, Ram Nagar, on August 2.
Competitions at other centres will be held as follows: Salem on July 18, Vellore on July 19, Thiruvarur on July 25, Puducherry on July 26, Erode on August 1, Thanjavur on August 8, Tiruchirappalli on August 9, Madurai on August 22, Tirunelveli on August 23, Chennai on August 29 and Tambaram on August 30.
Contestants will be divided into three categories: Juniors (Classes VI to VIII), Seniors (Classes IX to XII) and College Students (UG, PG, Engineering, Medical and Polytechnic).

Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam has been conducting these competitions annually since 1988 with the objective of promoting awareness of the teachings and values of the Thirukkural among the student community across the State.
