The successful candidates include Madhu Varshini, appointed as Assistant Commissioner, Commercial Tax; Harsha, Assistant Director of Rural Development; and Beulah Violet, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Two other achievers, Larsen Israel (DSP) and Jeevitha, Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Society, were honoured in absentia.

While addressing the achievers and aspirants, Balagurusamy highlighted that the civil service is the backbone of nation-building and emphasised that the fundamental duty of a civil servant is to serve the people.

Stressing the role of civil servants in delivering good governance, he stated that they serve as a crucial bridge between the people and the government. Effective and committed civil servants, he said, are essential to realising the Government of India’s vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.

However, he warned that this vision would remain unfulfilled unless civil servants and political leaders work with dedication and sincerity.

He also pointed out that India must focus on strengthening its education system, healthcare, and per capita income to truly achieve the status of a developed nation. Addressing the future civil servants in the audience, Balagurusamy urged them to make objective decisions, respond swiftly to societal issues, uphold transparency in their work, and be accountable for their actions.

He advised them to learn to say “no” when necessary and to always act with strong moral and ethical integrity.
