The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis and Sri Krishna Sweets, with a sponsorship of ₹49 lakhs, jointly constructed four new classrooms for the benefit of students at the Government Higher Secondary School in Arasampalayam, Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore.
The newly built classroom block, named Amudha Semmal N.K. Mahadevan Centenary Block, was inaugurated today (20th June 2025).
The block was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Chandra Mohan, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, in the presence of Pavankumar Giriyappanavar, District Collector of Coimbatore.
Krishnan, Chairman of Sri Krishna Sweets, along with his family members, handed over the key of the new block to the Chief Guest and the District Collector.
Nandakumar, Managing Director of Selvam Agencies; Varadarajan, President of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis; club members; the school headmaster; teachers; and students were present at the inauguration.
The newly constructed building includes a laboratory and a library, and is equipped with all essential facilities for students within the classrooms.
The foundation stone for the building was laid in October last year by Kranti Kumar, the then District Collector of Coimbatore.
