Rotary Club of Coimbatore Downtown organized a Felicitation Ceremony to honor teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2026 at Carmel Garden Matriculation & Higher Secondary School on Saturday.
The club presented the Nation Builder Award to the former teachers. Fr. Arokia Thadayus, Principal of Carmel Garden, and 4 other retired teaching staff – Joe Dhanraj, Michaelsamy, Sadhanandham and Romald were honored with the award.
They were presented by Rotary Club of Coimbatore Downtown President Rtn. Kumaran, Secretary Rtn. Arun Nagappan, and Vocational Chair Rtn. Dr. Suman, in the presence of District Membership Chairman Rtn. Godwin.
Support to Pension Fund Scheme by Alumni:
Carmel Garden aims to create a corpus fund of Rs.1 crore that will be of use to generate funds for the school’s Teachers’ Pension. Around 55 such pensioners or their beneficiaries are being benevolently supported by the institution.
To help support the institution in this endeavour, Er.Rtn. A. Godwin presented a check of Rs.1 lakh on behalf of the Batch of 1992.
