Rotary Club of Coimbatore Downtown organized a Felicitation Ceremony to honor retired teachers, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2026 at Carmel Garden Matriculation & Higher Secondary School on Saturday.
The club honoured Arokia Thadayus, Principal of Carmel Garden, and 4 other retired teaching staff – Joe Dhanraj, Michaelsamy, Sadhanandham and Romald. Dr.Suman, Chair – Vocational Services, Rotary Downtown presented the awards to them in the presence of Rotarians Godwin and Rtn. Nagappan.
The school’s Alumni Association is also aiming to set up a corpus fund of Rs.1 crore to support the school’s Teachers’ Pension Fund. The first donation (Rs.1 lakh) was made by the Alumni batch of 1999. It was received by D.Nandakumar, President, Alumni Association – Carmel Garden.
