Rathinam Global Deemed to be University (RGU), through its School of Applied Biosciences, Food & Agri Tech, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development and Environmental Research (CDER), a unit of Green India Trust, Coimbatore.
The partnership is to strengthen collaborative research, skill development, community extension and social welfare initiatives. The MoU is effective for a period of three years.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Krishnaraj, Registrar, RGU; Suriyaraj, Dean, School of Applied Biosciences, Food & Agri Tech, and Aravindh, HoD, Department of Biotechnology, representing RGU. From CDER, Govindarajan, Founder and Director, and Selvaraj, Deputy Director, represented the organisation.
The collaboration focuses on research facilitation, faculty and scholar development, skill-based training, seminars, conferences and faculty development programmes. It will also promote tribal and rural women entrepreneurship, youth skill development, community engagement and waste-to-value initiatives.
Under the partnership, students, research scholars and faculty members will receive opportunities for research projects, field surveys, data generation, statistical analysis, research methodology and data-analysis training, along with guidance towards quality publications and research grants.
The MoU marks a significant step towards building strong academic–research partnerships, empowering students and researchers, and creating meaningful societal and environmental impact through collaborative initiatives.
