Rathinam Global (Deemed to be University) organised the Research Launchpad–2026: Research Scholar Induction Programme recently.
Krishnaraj, Registrar of the university, welcomed the gathering and described research as a powerful tool that provides practical solutions to real-world challenges and transforms every scholar into a catalyst for the nation’s development.
He also encouraged scholars to think creatively and pursue innovative research to address contemporary societal needs.
Kanthababu, Director, Centre for Research, Anna University, Chennai, the chief guest, delivered an insightful presentation on the fundamentals of quality research.
He emphasised that originality and novelty are the cornerstones of research and advised scholars to use artificial intelligence responsibly without compromising independent thinking.
He highlighted the importance of a strong research methodology, ethical practices, patent searches, quality publications, a scientific attitude, language proficiency, and a thorough understanding of Ph.D. regulations.
He also discussed the characteristics of successful researchers, common research challenges, the role of supervisors, effective time management, self-care, and the distinction between surface-level and in-depth research.
Nagaraj, Vice Chancellor (Officiating) and Vice President, Rathinam Group of Institutions, and CBO of Rathinam Group, officially launched the Research Passport.
This was followed by the release of the Research Abstracts Book, InQuest, marking a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to promoting research excellence.
In his presentation, he introduced the university’s research ecosystem by highlighting the nine milestones of the Research Passport.
He also explained the importance of the research community, the 100-Day Research Challenge with its five research portfolios, and the RGU Research Conclave, all designed to monitor scholars’ progress and foster a vibrant research culture.
Balasubramanian, Director – Research Programmes, explained the university’s Ph.D. regulations and research milestones.
The programme concluded with an interactive session involving the research scholars, followed by a vote of thanks by Geetha, Deputy Director, Academics and Research.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research supervisors, and scholars, making the induction programme a grand success.
