A 100-year old journey in any field is a marvel because Time breaks everything easily than it allows something to get built.
There are few schools in Coimbatore that could boast of a 100-year old legacy.
What sets PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School apart from the rest is its foundational value.
Being the very institution to be established by PSG & Sons’ Charities in 1924, the school aimed to facilitate equal access to education for everyone. Its very name Sarva Jana means “For All People” summarizes its noble mission.
Celebrating 102 years of educational service to society, the institution celebrated its Foundation Day for the year 2026 on Thursday, paying tributes to the Founders of PSG & Sons’ Charities.
Ramalingam, a renowned Tamil orator and TV personality took part as the Chief Guest. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, presided over the event.
Know & Cherish Your History – Ramalingam
The rich history of PSG Sarvajana is unique and is an example to other Institutions in rest of India.
One should acknowledge that this school did what a government should do. Its founders set aside their personal wishes and aimed to democratize school education more than 100 years ago.
Dr.Kalam, once asked a batch of students who is the No.1 enemy of India. 99% students also named a country but 1 girl student said it is ‘Poverty’. He immediately appreciated the girl and accepted that Poverty is the real enemy of a country like India that aspires to develop, and students should work to eradicate it.
PSG Sarvajana is fulfilling Kalam’s dream by giving education of the highest class to people from all walks of life. My wish is that you learn value & culture from this school as much as you choose to learn your academics from it.
