The Finals of the 1st All India Basketball Tournament for Women by PSG Sports Club saw South Western Railway and South Central Railway compete for the Championship, and the South Western Railway was crowned the Winner of the Tournament.
South Western Railway maintained an upperhand frequently. At the end of Qtr 3, it scored 55 pts while South Central Railway trailed it with only 39, that is 16 pts behind SWR.
However, Qtr 4 was a difference maker for SCR as it reduced its point deficit to 7. Strong play by Harsi (No.15) and Priyanka (No.7) and rest of the team helped the team overcome but they couldn’t maintain the consistency at the final minutes.
Some costly turnovers by SCR and patient playmaking by SWR made a decisive difference. The spirit belongs to SCR but the trophy belongs to SWR.
