The Department of Biotechnology of PSG College of Arts & Science organised a Science Programme on “Terrace Farming of Medicinal Plants and Development of Herbal Products: An Entrepreneurship Opportunity for Unemployed Women”, recently.
It is a three-day program designed to empower unemployed women, offering them practical knowledge on terrace farming of medicinal plants and developing herbal products as an entrepreneurial opportunity.
The program aims to equip participants with the skills needed to start their businesses and create a sustainable livelihood.
The inaugural day featured an insightful and practical talk by Sathuvan, Assistant Professor, University of Madras, Chennai. He provided a comprehensive session on terrace farming, specifically aimed at guiding unemployed women to utilize their rooftops for cultivating medicinal plants and creating herbal products.
The session was well-received by the 50 participants, who expressed enthusiasm about the entrepreneurial opportunities presented.
