SharonPly, one of India’s leading manufacturers of plywood and allied products, installed a PET bottle shredding machine at Coimbatore Railway Junction on June 11, 2025, as part of their flagship environmental awareness initiative, #SayNoToPlastic.
The machine was inaugurated by Sachin Kumar, Station Director.
The company is proactively working to reduce the environmental impact of single-use plastics by installing PET bottle shredding machines in key public locations.
After successful installations across Chennai, Trichy, Salem, and Madurai, the shredding machine has been inaugurated in Coimbatore.
SharonPly stated, “Plastic pollution remains one of the most urgent environmental threats of our time. Over 300 million tons of plastic are produced globally every year, with more than half discarded after a single use. This leads to devastating consequences for ecosystems, such as plastics seeping into drains, rivers, and oceans.”
Through its #ISayNoToPlastic initiative, SharonPly aims not only to reduce plastic waste but also to inspire public awareness and behavioural change toward more sustainable practices.
