LMW organised an award ceremony to honour the winners of the 14th edition of the DJ Memorial Photography Contest (DJMPC) at the Kasthuri Sreenivasan Cultural Centre on 30th July 2025.

Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Chairman & Managing Director of LMW, presented the awards and certificates to the winners in the presence of Maruthachalam, Managing Director of RK Photo Centre.

A total of 2,292 participants took part in the competition, and 8,925 photographs from 32 countries were submitted under two categories: Wild Portraits and Naturescape.

The DJMPC features a total prize pool of ₹10 lakhs. In each category, beyond the top two awards, 10 participants are recognised with a Certificate of Merit for their contributions.

Following the award ceremony, a photo exhibition showcasing a selection of contest photographs was inaugurated by the dignitaries and opened to the public. The exhibition will remain open for viewing until Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Awardees

Wild Portraits Category

  • Sandeep Das from Kerala was the winner for his photograph titled “The Insect Kaleidoscope.”
  • Kasim Mohammed from Madhya Pradesh was the runner-up for his photograph titled “Solitude in the Grass.”

Naturescape Category

  • Arnaud Farre from France was the winner for his photograph titled “Spirits of the Falls.”
  • Dileep, from the UAE, was the runner-up for his photograph titled “Elusive, Endangered, and Ancient.”

DJ Memorial Photography Contest

It is an LMW-sponsored annual competition designed to identify, recognise, and celebrate outstanding talent in the field of photography.

The contest was established in honour of D. Jayavarthanavelu (DJ), LMW’s former Chairman and Managing Director. The event serves as a tribute to DJ’s deep passion for photography.

Since its inception in 2012, the contest has consistently attracted enthusiastic participation from the photography community.

Participants for DJMPC 2025 were required to register through the official online portal, www.djmpc.in, between 1st May 2025 and 30th June 2025.
