KPR College of Arts Science and Research is organising the KPR CAS World Records Festival 2027 to celebrate seven years of its academic journey. Bringing together 210 staff members and 5,328 students, the festival aims to achieve 12 world records across diverse domains. The records will be adjudicated and certified by Elite World Records, Asian Book of Records and Indian Book of Records.
The festival is being organised under the leadership of K. P. Ramasamy, Chairman, KPR Group, with the mentorship of Gayathri Anandakrishnan, Secretary, KPR Institutions, and the guidance of Geetha, Principal.

The programme is being conducted in two phases. The first phase, held from October 24 to 26, 2026, features three world record attempts. The second phase, scheduled from January 2 to 6, 2027, will feature nine additional attempts, culminating in the World Record Citation Ceremony on January 9, 2027.

The college commenced the festival on October 24, 2026, with an extraordinary sporting achievement. A total of 464 student athletes, National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets and other college students completed a 200-kilometre running relay in 11 hours and 28 minutes.

Carrying the message, “Say No to Drugs! Say Yes to Sports!”, the participants demonstrated endurance, discipline and teamwork while promoting healthy and active lifestyles. The students also took an anti-drug pledge, affirming their commitment to staying away from drugs and embracing sports as a positive and healthy way of life.
The second world record attempt, titled “Most Books Compiled, Authored and Published Simultaneously by a Higher Education Institution,” brought together 864 students and staff members from 27 departments to prepare books in their respective domains. A team of deans, led by the Principal, evaluated the submissions and shortlisted 699 books for adjudication by the world record authorities.

Twenty-one adjudicators from four states conducted individual interviews with the authors to assess the authenticity of the publications and verify their contributions. The evaluation process included reviewing AI-generated content detection reports, plagiarism and text similarity reports, ISBN allotment documents and other supporting records.
Following the verification process, 655 books qualified under the prescribed assessment criteria. These books will proceed through the necessary copyright formalities and publication process, with KPR College of Arts Science and Research serving as the publisher.
The college plans to make the books available through e-commerce platforms.
This initiative underscores the institution’s commitment to fostering authorship, subject expertise and academic creativity among students and staff. The initiative is presented as a first-of-its-kind effort globally, in which a higher education institution has attempted a world record involving the compilation, authorship and publication of books.

The third world record attempt, titled “Most Seed Balls Made by a Team in 2 Hours,” was scheduled for October 26, 2026. The initiative set a target of engaging more than 1,022 participants and 464 National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers in preparing 1,260,000 seed balls within two hours. It aims to promote environmental awareness, encourage tree planting and inspire students to contribute to a greener future. The final count and record status will be confirmed following the verification process.
Through the KPR CAS World Records Festival 2027, the college continues to promote learning beyond the classroom, celebrate student potential and recognise the contributions of its staff. By bringing together academic, sporting and environmental initiatives, the festival highlights the power of collective effort, innovation and determination in achieving meaningful milestones.
