The Department of English, Hindusthan College of Arts & Science (HICAS), organised a One-Day International Conference on “The Blue Lifeline: Literary Voices for Water Preservation” recently, with the objective of highlighting the importance of water conservation through literature and academic discourse.
Ponnusamy, Principal, delivered the Presidential Address. Muthmainnah, Assistant Professor, Department of Indonesian Language Education, Indonesia, participated virtually as the International Guest and Abhaya, Associate Professor, Christ University, Bengaluru, delivered the Keynote Address.
The conference witnessed the participation of 180 academicians, researchers and students, with 88 research papers presented on water preservation through literature.

School students from various institutions also displayed innovative projects and received certificates and cash prizes.

The conference was successfully coordinated by the faculty and students of the Department of English under the able guidance of Priya Sharon Thomas, Head, Department of English.
Sarasuwathi Khannaiyan, Managing Trustee, and Priya, Executive Trustee and Secretary, Hindusthan Educational Institutions extended their warm wishes and congratulated the organizers, resource persons, researchers, students and participants for the successful conduct of the conference.
