The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS), Hindusthan Institute of Technology, organised an insightful seminar on “Cloud Computing: From Data Centers to Digital Transformation” on Monday.
The programme was organised for more than 250 second-, third-, and final-year students of the AI&DS Department, with the objective of providing them with a deeper understanding of cloud computing technologies and their growing significance in the digital era.
The session was delivered by Ramesh Duraisamy, Senior Enterprise Architect, Wesco International, Bengaluru, who shared his extensive industry knowledge and practical experience with the students.
The programme was held under the patronage of Natarajan, Principal, Hindusthan Institute of Technology, and was convened by Ramasamy, Head, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
The seminar covered several important aspects of cloud computing, including its fundamentals; service models such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS); public, private, and hybrid cloud environments; virtualisation; cloud security; cloud adoption across industries; and digital transformation.
The resource person also highlighted the practical applications of cloud technologies across various industries and discussed evolving career opportunities and the skills required for students aspiring to build careers in cloud computing and related technologies.
The seminar served as an effective platform for industry-academia interaction, enabling students to gain exposure to contemporary technologies and real-world industry perspectives.
The programme enhanced students’ technical knowledge, industry awareness, and understanding of the role of cloud computing in driving digital transformation.
