The Department of Costume Design and Fashion at Dr. NGP Arts and Science College organised an Indo–Australian Bilateral Meet on Business Investment and Career Opportunities on Friday.
Roy Butler, Member of Parliament, Barwon, Australia, was the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the growing scope for Indo–Australian collaboration in trade, education, skill development, and employment, encouraging students to explore global career opportunities. He also stated that India is exporting world-class engineering products.
The event aimed to strengthen academic, industrial, and international collaborations while exploring business investment prospects and global career opportunities.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Saravanan, Principal of the college.
Dr. Arun N. Palaniswami, Trustee, Dr. NGP Research and Educational Trust, delivered the presidential address, emphasising the importance of international partnerships in higher education and industry.
Mathura V. Palaniswami, Trustee, Dr. NGP Research and Educational Trust, urged students to make the best use of the opportunities presented through the bilateral meet.
John Clements, Senior Advisor to Roy Butler MP and Business Analyst from New South Wales, Australia, also addressed the gathering, sharing valuable insights into international business collaborations and investment opportunities.
The event was further enriched by the presence of eminent industrialists and entrepreneurs, including Abhijeet Deshmukh, Business Head, Mafatlal Group, Mumbai; Bharath, Director, Mehala Machines, Tiruppur; Senthil Prabhu, Founder of Miletmarket.com; and Rahul Raju Nawande, Director, Horse Fashion Group, Tiruppur.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Lakshmi Narasimman, Chairman, Horse Fashion Group.
Faculty members and students from various departments of the college participated enthusiastically. During the interactive session, students clarified their queries, which were addressed by Irfan Malik, Executive Director, Australia Multilateral Foundation for Impact and Trade (AMFIT).
The bilateral meet served as a significant platform for fostering international cooperation, strengthening industry-academia engagement, and enhancing global career prospects for students.
