Commemorating the 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, Gurudwara Singh Sabha in R.S. Puram, Coimbatore, celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanthi today, 5th November 2025.

Guru Nanak Dev, born in 1469, is the founder of Sikhism. “This year, the celebration started on 30th October 2025 and continued until 5th November,” said Gurupreet Singh, President of Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Coimbatore.

He added, “From 30th October to 3rd November, we walked through our neighbourhood at 5:30 a.m., performing poojas and returning to the Gurudwara. On 3rd November, the celebration began with the continuous reading of the Guru Granth Sahib, our living scripture, for 48 hours, which concluded today.”

He also said that the Jayanthi festivities were attended by people from Coimbatore, Pollachi, and Salem. The celebration will end with a langar, in which we expect more than 1,000 people to participate.”

Sardar Iqbal Singh Thin, Secretary of Gurudwara Singh Sabha in Coimbatore, and several others also participated in the event.
