“Auf Augenhöhe” (At Eye Level), a German film, will be screened at Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore on April 25 (Saturday) at 5 pm.
The film follows Michi, a 10-year-old boy living in a children’s home after his mother’s death. Unaware of his family, he discovers a letter addressed to his presumed father, giving him new hope.
When he tracks him down, he is surprised to find that the man, Tom, who is unaware that he has a son, is a dwarf.
The situation leads to challenges as Michi faces ridicule from other children, straining his relationship with Tom and prompting a Youth Welfare Office official to insist on a paternity test.
The screening is for audiences aged seven and above, will be held at the Mini Auditorium, Classroom 3, Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore.
The film will be in German with English subtitles.
