A 28-year-old man from Coimbatore has given a new lease of life to five people through organ donation.
Mahendran, a resident of Kurumbapalayam, was seriously injured in a road accident. He was admitted to Kumaran Medical Center for treatment, but doctors later declared him brain-dead.
Despite their immense grief, Mahendran’s family came forward to donate his organs. Doctors at Kumaran Medical Center retrieved his liver, kidneys, small intestine, and eyes. The organs were transplanted into different patients, helping save five lives.
The family’s generous decision, taken during a deeply painful time, has been widely appreciated as an inspiring act of humanity.
